Put simply, this Puppets Of Peace web-site is devoted to empowering children.

Children making puppets to give to other children in tragic situations. Through the efforts of P.O.P. supporters, children are taught to make 2 puppets, one to keep and one to send to another child who may be suffering detention, refugee or poverty status.

The child who makes the puppet learns an expression of compassion and becomes empowered in the knowledge that he/she CAN do something to make the world and life a little better.

The child who receives the puppet receives a ‘friend’, not just a puppet with whom to play and confide, but contact with another child via the gesture of giving.

Compassionate children are tomorrow’s best chance of surviving today’s politics.
